Summa Personal Assistant

Ask about your money. In your own words.

Summa reads your accounts, budgets, transactions and forecast, and answers with your real numbers.

It proposes. You decide.

Every change Summa wants to make is shown first, applied only when you say so, and can be undone afterwards.

Private, on your device.

Everyday questions are answered on your device with Apple Intelligence. On iOS 27, complex ones go through Private Cloud Compute.

Apple Intelligence

Works while you are away.

Between visits, Summa watches your money and leaves what it finds in one inbox: budget suggestions, newly detected recurring charges, and your alerts.

The inbox

Four personalities.

Pick the voice you want to hear from: The Coach, The CFO, The Roastmaster or The Sage. The numbers are yours either way.

Every transaction, in context.

On an iPad in landscape or on the Mac, open a transaction and the editor sits in the right pane with its story beneath it: your history with the merchant, where this amount sits among the others, and how it lands in your budget.

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know about Summa: budgeting, bank sync, investing, privacy, and more.

Is Summa free to use?
Yes. Summa is free to download, and the Free plan lets you record your money without limits. Summa Pro adds the intelligence on top: the personal assistant, the forecaster, investments, net worth, widgets and Spaces, from $4.17 a month billed annually ($49.99 a year) or $6.99 monthly, with a one-month free trial. Pro Lifetime is a one-time $124.99.
What does the Free plan include?
Unlimited accounts and transactions, budgets, labels and tags, two savings goals, five receipt scans a month and one statement import a month, on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Recording your money is free; Pro adds the intelligence on top.
Is the assistant private?
Yes. Summa Personal Assistant answers everyday questions on your device with Apple Intelligence, and on iOS 27 sends only complex questions to Apple's Private Cloud Compute. It reads your accounts, budgets, transactions and forecast and answers with your real numbers. Every change it wants to make is proposed first, applied only when you approve, and can be undone. It requires Summa Pro and a device with Apple Intelligence.
Is the Mac app native?
Yes. Summa for Mac is a real native Mac app, not a Catalyst port, and it is included with your subscription. It has a permanent sidebar, resizable windows, full keyboard control and menu bar commands, a menu bar panel that syncs in the background and shows a compact overview, Touch ID lock and Continuity Camera for receipts.
Which devices does Summa support?
Summa is a native app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. One ledger stays in step across all three through a private cloud mirror of your on-device data, and Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets give you at-a-glance financial visibility.
How does automatic bank syncing work?
Summa connects to your bank through Plaid, the same secure service used by leading finance apps. The connection is read-only, your bank credentials are never seen or stored by Summa, and access tokens are kept on the server, never on your device. You can trigger a manual sync or disconnect any institution at any time.
Which countries have bank sync?
Automatic bank sync through Plaid is available in the United States with Pro+Connect. Everywhere else, Summa imports statements from more than a hundred banks and cards, reads receipts with the camera and takes manual entries in seconds. In the United States and United Kingdom, Apple Card, Apple Cash and Savings link directly on iPhone and iPad.
Which Apple Wallet accounts can I link?
Apple Card, Apple Cash and Savings, through Apple's FinanceKit. Balances and transactions import automatically with no bank sign-in to maintain. Apple Wallet accounts are available in the United States and the United Kingdom, on iPhone and iPad.
Is my financial data private and secure?
Privacy is foundational. There are no ads, no tracking SDK and no tracking prompt. Your data lives on your device, protected by Face ID or Touch ID, and cloud sync is a private mirror of that on-device store. Intelligence runs on your device, bank credentials never touch our servers, and Spaces sharing is end-to-end encrypted. You can export or erase your data whenever you want, and Summa never sells it.
Can Summa track my investments?
Yes. Summa offers lot-aware portfolio tracking with real-time market quotes, gain/loss and day-change metrics, and candlestick or line charts. Search for ticker symbols, add holdings, and roll multiple portfolios into a single view.
Does Summa do budgeting and forecasting?
Yes. Create budgets with a guided setup, carry unspent amounts forward with rolling budgets, and accept smart suggestions based on your spending. The forecaster projects future category spending so you can see where the month is heading before it arrives.
Can I import data from another app or my bank?
Yes. Summa reads the data in every column of a statement, not just its header, and recognizes the exports of more than a hundred banks and cards in every language the app ships in. Imported transactions stack into swipeable cards of six, newest first: swipe right to approve, left to save for later. You can also capture receipts with the camera, and export your transactions as CSV anytime.
Can my partner or family share finances in Summa?
Yes. Spaces opens a secure window into your finances for a partner, a family member or an advisor. Connect by scanning a QR code and choose exactly what they can see. Everything you share is end-to-end encrypted, so our servers only ever see ciphertext.
Does Summa track bills, recurring payments, and net worth?
Yes. Track bills and subscriptions with due-vs-paid summaries and future scheduling, log recurring income, and watch your net worth update as Summa sums your assets and subtracts your liabilities across every account type.
